Welcome one and all to our webpage for the second BALDOCK and Letchworth folk festival being held at Letchworth Rugby Club between 23/6 July ….last year we had a real blast and this year is going to be even better with over 35 Acts, Great Stages and PA and all funds going to that great cause MNDA research.
Motor Neurone Disease to date incurable is terrible for victim and family and friends. Given the high profile of the affected rugby players Doddie Weir, Rob Burrows, Lewis Moody and Ed Slater it is appropriate that the venue is a rugby ground but it can strike anyone at any time
So although our wee festival is FREE at source to the whole community donations are requested for both MND and Musicians Fund
The Festival has been born out of the ashes of the long established Cambridge Folk Festival which although it has returned is a shade of its former self! Our aim is to take it all back to the roots music envisaged by the Cambridge Folk Festival originator Ken Woollard and encourage people who maybe would not listen to folk music to come along and have great fun and the craic!
Also the rugby club have kindly agreed to charge normal rather than festival prices for drink… plus there are all sorts of events such as champagne breakfasts and upgrades available to VIP status. You will find a list of performers and other info too!
